Julia Pritt is an Appalachian creative, born and raised in West Virginia. A multidisciplinary artist, her creative process stems from a desire to be present while engaging with visual methods of communication. Her artwork itself ranges from printmaking, hand drawn works with pens, mixed-media collages, and the written word. Often finding ways to relate material with subject matter, her work often takes inspiration from her own lived experiences and nature.
Jewelweed is an indigenous plant to the Appalachian Mountains that holds healing properties and symbolizes creativity, joy, and moving forward. Julia believes artmaking has the power to heal us internally just as jewelweed has the power to heal us externally.
